As a Māori business, Mauriora’s connection to the native flora and fauna of Aotearoa is inextricably linked. Kawakawa is endemic to Aotearoa and is a traditional medicinal (Rongoā) plant of Māori. This flavour pairing aligns with values of belonging and connectedness to homeland. Mauriora refer to this flavour as Zesty Zing due to a hint of pepper felt on the back of the tongue and the lingering feeling of the warm belly zing from the ginger.
